For twenty years Andrew Raven was closely involved in the development and running of Ardtornish Estate. Sadly, he lost a seven year battle with cancer in 2005. Nevertheless his legacy lives on both in many aspects of Ardtornish today and also through a newly established trust, The Andrew Raven Trust is registered as a Scottish Charity (SCO39488).
The Trust aims to support and encourage imaginative, sensitive and practical rural development in Scotland. It was established in 2008. Several weekend events have been organised at Ardtornish which have brought together inspirational speakers; rural policy advisors and active members of rural communities from all over Scotland for stimulating discussion in the context of an Estate which offers many practical demonstrations of sustainable rural activity.
