Rannoch Dam – how it might look

Work on the Rannoch Dam – the second new hydro scheme at Ardtornish – is progressing well. The scheme involves enlarging the existing dam on the river Rannoch, and new equipment downstream – with a new pipeline, turbine, turbine house, etc.

The dam is quite a significant piece of engineering. The image above gives some indication of what it will look like – though we hope to be able to disguise a significant amount of what’s visible here.
